Merquinsa's commitment to protect the safety of its employees and the neighbouring community, as well as the environmental protection in all its industrial activities, links together with a total transparency policy with local authorities, environmental associations and neighbourhoods. This is why the company applies this policy, as an integral concept of organization, based on the fulfilment of the following principles:
- Set current regulatory requirements as a minimum, following own responsible practices whenever regulations are missing.
- Considering EH&S implications in any company's decision making or practice.
- Monitor behaviours, audit, apply systematic control and revise programs to adopt prevention practices and technologies that are safer for people and the environment, through a continuous improvement plan.

Merquinsa has been working on a more effective strategy and culture for sustainable development among employees, customers, and suppliers for some time; demonstrating its commitment to the protection of its employees and environment with an ISO 14001 certification since 1999 and its adhesion to the "Responsible Care®" program since 2001.
Not only is Merquinsa committed to minimizing the impact on the environment, but also to the responsible use of natural resources and innovating in technologies deriving from renewable sources. Merquinsa has recently made significant progress in the development of the first TPU ranges made from renewable natural sources (instead of the traditional petroleum-based TPU products).
Merquinsa will continue to offer products with greater environmental sustainability while investing in the most effective TPU technologies and operating procedures to monitor the environmental impact of its business.
